La Alameda Station — Quito Metro Line 1
La Alameda Station sits in central-northern Quito, beside the historic La Alameda park, on the northern edge of the Historic Centre. It is the eighth stop on Line 1 and one of the most rewarding for visitors.
Location and access
La Alameda Station is bounded by Avenida Gran Colombia to the north and Calle Iquique to the south, with exits emerging beside La Alameda park, on the northern edge of Quito's Historic Centre. It is one of the most visited stations on the line.
Getting there: on foot from the Historic Centre and Avenida 10 de Agosto, or by Trolleybus, Ecovía and city buses along Avenida Gran Colombia and Avenida 10 de Agosto.

What to see nearby
La Alameda park
The city's oldest park, home to the Quito Astronomical Observatory (founded in 1873, one of the oldest in the Americas) and a lagoon where you can hire a rowing boat.
Basílica del Voto Nacional
The landmark neo-Gothic church, 5–10 minutes' walk to the west. You can climb its towers.
Historic Centre
The station sits on the northern edge of the UNESCO-listed colonial old town, close to the National Assembly.

The station has ticket offices for buying and topping up the Metro Q card, self-service machines, access gates, lifts and escalators for priority passengers, information screens with arrival times, CCTV and security staff. It is fully accessible for passengers with reduced mobility.
