Frequently asked questions

How many lines does the Quito Metro map show?
Just one. Line 1 is currently the only line, with 15 stations running south to north. There is no Line 2 — the planned expansion extends Line 1 itself towards La Ofelia.
Is there a downloadable PDF map?
The operator publishes official maps at stations and on its own channels. The map on this page is interactive and works on a phone, so you can search a station and open directions to it directly.
Why does the line on the map not follow the streets?
Because the whole route is underground. The blue line traces the alignment between stations rather than any surface road.
Which stations connect to buses?
El Recreo and La Magdalena connect to the Trolleybus, El Ejido and Universidad Central to the Ecovía, and El Labrador is a multimodal hub with the airport bus. Quitumbe adjoins the intercity bus terminal.
Does the fare depend on how far I travel on the map?
No. The Metro uses a flat fare, so a one-station hop costs the same as the full 22.5 km run: USD 0.45 standard, with reduced rates of USD 0.22 and USD 0.10.
